Waste

From the ground up

Building an environmentally friendly resort brings its own challenges. But according to Couran Cove Resort's environmental officer, the development had an important big advantage.

The resort was planned and created the right way, first time. Waste management, for example, could be introduced at the start.

Guest turnover

One of the big waste challenges for Couran Cove Resort is the changing guest numbers. During holiday seasons, 500 people can be using the facilities on any day. Off-season visitor numbers are much lower.

Sewage is one of the most challenging waste issues. Most ordinary waste disposal systems need a certain level of 'throughput' to work properly. What system would work best for the environment and the resort's guests?
