Power
Power to the people
There are normally two ways of providing electricity to an island resort.
The first way is to connect to the mainland power grid through an undersea
cable. South Stradbroke Island is separated from the east coast of Australia
by a stretch of sea called the Broadwater. Even at its widest, it's less
than three kilometres from shore to shore so a cable connection is easily
possible.
The second way is to build an industry-standard diesel power station
on the island and burn fuel shipped from the mainland.
And there's the third way, Couran Cove Resort way.
