Birds

Couran Cove Resort is only about 150 hectares in size, but five major types of habitat are all crammed together in that small space. So it's not surprising that the island attracts a rich variety of birdlife.

All over the world, plants and birds need each other and help each other to survive. Australian birds and plants are thought to be the most intertwined. The Scarlet Honeyeater with the Forest Red Gums, the Noisy Friar Bird and the Saw-leaf Banksia are just two examples.

Other birds also use the plants–by eating the insects which the plants attract.
